The plain heart pattern is rated beginner friendly. The pride hearts are rated advanced beginner+ due to the various and frequent color changes. It is always helpful to have previous amigurumi experience + knowledge. Regardless of skill level, I recommend making at least one plain heart to start. Gutsy beginners are welcome to give the pride hearts a try!

Pattern Overview:

The heart is worked continuously in the round. The first stitch of each round should be marked with a stitch marker. The two heart “humps” are crocheted separately then joined together in the round. Gradual decreases give the heart its tapered shape. Light sewing is needed to close the heart and the gap between the two humps.

Gauge:

Gauge is not relevant for this pattern.

As with all amigurumi, make sure your stitches are neat and tight.

I recommend sizing down a hook size (or two) past what the yarn label recommends.

The size of the yarn determines how big or small the heart is. Experiment! You can never have too many hearts.
